Update (6:45 p.m.) – Reports indicated one lane of Highway 65 is open and traffic is moving through the area slowly.

Original story:

Emergency responders in Carroll County were dispatched to an accident at the intersection of Highway 65 and Route W in Carroll County, also known as the Bogard Junction.

Scanner traffic indicated a truck and tractor-trailer collided shortly after 5 p.m. Initial reports said at least one person was injured.

A KMZU listener reported the semi overturned onto its side and the grain that was being hauled was scattered across the roadway.  The highway was closed in both directions for some time while heavy equipment worked to clear the roadway.

Motorists are urged to use extra caution in the area.
