One person was injured in a Benton County Crash early Sunday morning.

The Highway Patrol reports Jimmy Brown, 25, of Sedalia, was southbound on Highway 7 when he crossed the center line to avoid a wrong-way driver. He then over-corrected and ran off the side of a roadway, striking a utility pole. The guidewire then sagged into the roadway, and a second vehicle struck it. That second car was driven by Kristopher Johnson, 30, of Kansas City, who was not injured.

The first driver received serious injuries and was transported to the Camdenton Hospital by helicopter.
