The Carroll County Area YMCA held a board meeting Thursday. Click to hear KMZU’s Chris Clift talk with interim executive director Kathy Lock:
The organization will open an office space at 101 East Ridge Drive in Carrollton on March 1st. The facility is across from Sonic, in the same building as McRentals in a space that was previously occupied by Verizon Wireless.
According to Lock they had more than 400 surveys returned regarding what Carroll County residents would like to see from the local YMCA. She says demand clearly exists for programs that would cater to all ages. One of the most overwhelmingly requested programs was some type of day care and/or child care, with 79 percent of survey respondants indicating a need in that area.
A pair of full time careers are also available right now with the Carroll County Area YMCA. They are searching for an executive director and a program director. Lock says these are enjoyable positions that would be a great fit for candidates with at least an undergraduate degree and some relevant experience.
Whether you would like to apply for a job or just talk with Lock about any YMCA related topics the public is welcome to contact her by email at klock at carrollcountyareaymca dot org.
