Young Girl Assaulted in Liberty

A KMZU listener has reported that Liberty Police are searching for a suspect in what is believed to be a possible assault on a 15-year-old girl on her way to school.

The incident occurred near Cedar and Missouri Streets and police are in that area gathering information. Police say that the girl was at a bus stop when a man jumped out and grabbed her just after 7 a.m. The girl was able to get away and run for help.

Authorities are searching for a white male in his 40’s with salt and pepper hair wearing jeans and a plaid jacket with what appears to be paint or plaster on them; and he may be armed with a knife.
