An area of 10 highway near Wood Heights will be seeing a 10 mph increase.  “We had multiple customer questions about the speed limit in that area being to low,” said Wood, “So we performed a speed study.  A speed study uses the travelling speed of the public as a base, along with other factors, such as crash history, access management, and site distance.  After completing that study, it was decided that 55 mph would be more appropriate.”

The above mentioned speed tests happen all across Missouri on a regular basis. “We’re constantly monitoring all areas,” Wood said, “If necessary we will do more speed studies, especially as the area develops or if the area happens to develop, we will keep an eye on it.”
