A long-standing tradition begins again for the 113th time this weekend. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with Volunteer Richard Hammel:
The tradition began in 1900 as a time for people to celebrate the crops and meet with those who had left the community. The festivities have changed and grown since that time. Community organizations remain a large part of the festivities. “We get a lot of participation from the community organizations. The Corder Fire District helps, the Home and Community Club, the VFW, the Corder Lions, and the Corder Picnic Association all work hard to put it together,” said Hammel.
