A suspect has been apprehended in connection to a rash of overnight vehicle break-ins.
(8:05 a.m.) Excelsior Springs Police are investigating a rash of overnight vehicle break-ins. According to police at least eight vehicles were broken into overnight.
Most of the vehicles were locked, and windows were busted to gain access. The priority for the criminals appears to have been stereo equipment.
Most of the break-ins have been reported from the western half of Excelsior Springs, primarily west of Titus Avenue.
Police are looking for a Pontiac Sunfire with dark paint. A witness says the vehicle has blue lights above the rear license plate.

Numerous vehicle break-ins overnight throughout Excelsior Springs.
At least eight (8) vehicle break-ins have been reported this morning to the Excelsior Springs Police Department. Most of the vehicles were locked at the time of the occurrences, but had their windows broken out to gain access. Most of the thefts from the vehicles has been of stereo equipment. Some vehicles did not have anything stolen from them, but did still get their windows broken out.
It appears most of the break-ins were scattered throughout town on the western half of Excelsior Springs (west of Titus Avenue).
A suspect vehicle description has been provided by a witness. The Police Department is looking for a dark-colored Pontiac Sunfire with blue lights above the rear license plate.
