Every month local businesses step up and show support for Adams Primary and Carrollton Elementary Schools. Those businesses include KMZU, Shopko, Mulches, Remedies, Pizza Hut, Bank Midwest, Hair I Do, Shirley’s Shoes and Boots, Shapes, Carroll County Trust Company, Sell Well real estate, Sonic, Hometown Pharmacy, Reid Medical Clinic, Carrollton Daily Democrat, and the Carrollton Public Library.
Hope Wilson with Reid Medical Clinic said her business does this to help inspire creativity, because children with creativity grow up to be adults with dreams, goals, and go-getter attitudes.
Pizza Hut is another very dedicated partner. Every month, kids that meet there reading goals at school and home are given a Book-It coupon, good for one free personal pan pizza. Kristy Monahan said reading is a very important part of life and they want to show kids it can be fun, too.
Not only do these business partners come in and read once a month, they also offer tours of their businesses and bring in surprises for their classes on holidays.
