Two area men have been named in a 16 count indictment for an alleged drug trafficking and firearms conspiracy. Rodney Bethards, 49, of Laredo and Clinton Sibbit, 42, of Trenton are charged along with 19 others from Kansas, Missouri, and Mexico.
The federal indictment alleges the defendants participated in a conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of pure methamphetamine, 500 grams or more of methamphetamine/cocaine, and 100 kilograms or more of marijuana.
Sibbit and Bethards are charged together with one count of alleged distribution of methamphetamine. Sibbit is also facing firearms charges.
The defendants could have to forfeit to the government any property or proceeds obtained from the drug-trafficking conspiracies.
