INDEPENDENCE, Mo.- According to official court records, two other suspects have been charged with 2nd-degree murder by the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in relation to the death of Anthony Johnson in October 2015.
Rachel Ryce, 28, of Blue Springs, Mo., and Shawn Burkhalter, 28, of Kansas City, Mo., have been formally charged as announced by Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Ryce is charged with felony 2nd-degree murder, 2 separate felony armed criminal action charges and felony robbery in the 1st-degree.
Burkhalter’s charges also list felony 2nd-degree murder along with 2 felony armed criminal action charges and felony robbery in the 1st-degree.
According to court records, Johnson was found shot to death on October 4, 2015 in an apartment in the 8300 block of Hillcrest.
Both defendants were issued a $100,000 cash only bond. An arraignment has not been scheduled and all other suspects involved have been charged.
