COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Show-Me State Games, and Shelter Insurance have announced the schedule for the 2016 Torch Run. The Shelter Insurance Show-Me State Games is an Olympic-style sports festival that offers more that 40 events for all ages and ability levels.

Show Me State Games

The Torch Run’s mission is to generate enthusiasm and exposure for the GAMES throughout the state of Missouri. This year’s GAMES will take place June 10-12, July 22-24, and July 29-31 in Columbia.

“The Torch Run is a great way to show Missourians the benefits of participating in the Show-Me State Games. We enjoyed helping share that message and look forward to expanding the event this year,” stated Frank Thompson, Vice President of Marketing for Shelter Insurance and Show-Me State Games Steering Committee Chair.

The Torch Run is expected to visit 10 cities, which includes four sporting events in St. Louis, Springfield, St. Joseph, and Joplin.

The full schedule is as follows:

-Hannibal – April 13, Noon: Central Park

-Kansas City – April 19, 1:30 p.m.: Mill Creek Park

-St. Joseph – April 19, 5:00 p.m.: Welcome Center, Missouri Western

-Springfield – April 28, 6:00 p.m.: Mediacom Ice Park, Hammons Field

-Joplin – April 29, 4:00 p.m.: Missouri Southern

-Cape Girardeau – May 3, 10:15 a.m.: A.C. Brase Arena

-St. Louis – May 3, 7:10 p.m.: Busch Stadium

-St. Charles – May 4, 11:00 a.m.: Frontier Park

-Jefferson City – July 22, 11:00 a.m.: Missouri State Capitol

-Columbia – July 22, 3:00 p.m.: University of Missouri; 3:30 p.m.: Shelter Insurance

Culmination of the Torch Run will be the Opening Ceremonies festivities taking place at 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 22 at Mizzou Arena.
