PETTIS COUNTY, Mo. – A driver was moderately injured after hitting a deer in Pettis County Tuesday afternoon.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said the crash occurred around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday evening, on Route W, South of Lena Road. A southbound vehicle driven by Kelly Carver, 48, of Smithton, struck the deer, ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

An ambulance transported Carver to Bothwell Regional Medical Center for treatment.
