3 subjects were arrested in connection to a residential burglary near Smithton Wednesday afternoon. According to reports, the deputies from the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office arrested Shane Ruth, 22, of Cole Camp, Matthew Eppenauer, 24, of Sedalia, and Sheila Swop, 19, of Otterville after responding to a burglary in progress in the 26000 block of Florence Road. A large amount of stolen property was recovered during the investigation. Ruth has been charged with 1st degree burglary, stealing, and unlawful possession of a firearm. Ruth’s bond was set at $150,000. Eppenauer faces charges of first degree burglary, stealing, and unlawful possession of a concealable firearm. His bond has been set at $150,000 also. Swope faces charges of first degree burglary and stealing, and her bond was set at$50,000. They currently remain in the Pettis County Jail pending the posting of bond.
