WARRENSBURG, Mo.- Saturday, July 18, 2015 the Missouri Lions Club is holding their 39th annual all-star football game.  Tomorrow the pre-game festivities will begin at 6:30 p.m. with kick-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Walton Stadium/Vernon Kennedy Field on the University of Central Missouri (UCM) Campus, in Warrensburg, MO.  The game features 50 phenomenal 2015 graduated high school football players from around the state to play one last game with and against their peers before entering the world of college or other careers including 18 of our own local area high school participants. The annual event was created in order to benefit the youth of Missouri and this years proceeds will help with a donation to Saving Sight out of Columbia, MO. Saving Sight is a nonprofit organization that changes lives through the gift of sight and charitable vision services. They were founded in 1960 as an eye bank in central Missouri, and today, their vision programs serve more than 55,000 people each year.

The student-athletes arrived at UCM on Monday.  Leading up to the game the players and coaches spent the week getting acquainted, learning plays and two-a-day practice sessions, and involved in local community appearances including visiting with veterans.  The game is divided into Blue and Gold Teams. Heading this year’s Blue squad will be Justin Conyers from the defending 5A State Champ Battle High School, and the Gold team will be led by Coach Pat Kelley from Fulton High School.  Game tickets are $7 in advance (or $10 at the gate) and are available by contacting the Missouri Lions State Office at (573) 635-1773. Children 5 & under will be free, and Student Tickets (1st grade thru college) will be $3.00 in advance ($5.00 at the gate).
