The New Missouri Farm Bill Will Be Topic of Discussion At this years’ Tweedie Agri-Business Forum. The University of Missouri Extension Council will host the fourth annual event on Thursday, November 20th at the Rupe Community Center in Carrollton. A free meal will be served at 6:00 p.m., with the program this year titled “Landowner and Producer Decisions in the 2014 Farm Bill”. Whitney Wiegel, an Extension Ag Business Management Specialist and one of the featured speakers says producers have some important decisions ahead of them when choosing which new program to enroll their crop acres in.

Wiegel also said that with the new programs comes responsibility for area producers to understand them and figure out which ones would best suit their individual farms.

The other featured speaker will be Peter Zimmel with Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute (FAPRI). Chuck Riley with Farm Service Agency will also be available to answer questions from area producers. Seating is limited and anyone who is interested in attending should contact the Carroll County Extension Office by November 14th.
