Press Release from the Missouri State Highway Patrol:

Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, announces the assignment of six new troopers to the Troop A, Lee’s Summit area. These officers reported for duty on July 11, 2011. They began training at the Highway Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, Missouri, on January 3, 2011, and graduated on June 24, 2011, after receiving comprehensive training covering all facets of law enforcement.

Trooper Daren C. Belardo will be assigned to Zone 13, which patrols Pettis County. His training officer is Corporal Erik J. Keim. Tpr. Belardo is a graduate of Bensalem Senior High School, in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, and Anderson University, in Anderson, Indiana, where he earned a bachelor’s of arts degree in criminal justice. He and his wife, Vanessa (Grubb), have three children, Nathan, 7, Grace, 4, and Luke, 3 months.
Trooper Benjamin R. Dodson will be assigned to Zone 14, which patrols Bates County. His training officer is Corporal Mark A. Pate. Tpr. Dodson is a graduate of (A.C.H.F.) Association of Christian Homeschooling Families, in Joplin, Missouri, and Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri, where he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in communications.
Trooper Adam J. Gray will be assigned to Zone 9, which patrols Lafayette County. His training officer is Corporal Jeffrey “Jeff” D. Spire. Tpr. Gray is a graduate of Park Hill High School, in Kansas City, Missouri, and Park University, in Kansas City, Missouri, where he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in business management. He and his wife, Kaitlin (Elliott), have one son, Elliott, four months.
Trooper Joseph D. Hall will be assigned to Zone 3, which patrols Clay County. His training officer is Trooper Joel E. Givens. Tpr. Hall is a graduate of Lathrop High School, in Lathrop, Missouri, and William Jewell College, in Liberty, Missouri, where he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in recreation and sports management.
Trooper Gabriel J. Jenner will be assigned to Zone 14, which patrols Bates County. His training officer is Trooper Doug W. Scotten. Tpr. Jenner is a graduate of Greenville High School, in Greenville, Illinois, and Southeast Missouri State University, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, where he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in criminal justice.
Trooper Daniel L. Smith will be assigned to Zone 8, which patrols Lafayette County. His training officer is Corporal Adam V. Dillon. Tpr. Smith is a graduate of Braymer High School, in Braymer, Missouri, and the University of Missouri – Kansas City, where he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in criminal justice.
