Six people died in traffic crashes and two people drowned over  this Memorial Day weekend, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol. Among them was 26-year-old Richard E. Talbert of Sedalia, who died Saturday, (May 23) when his vehicle went off the road and struck an embankment on Route U in Pettis County.

During the holiday, from 6 p.m. Friday to 11:59 p.m. Monday, the patrol investigated 351 car and boating crashes, causing 119 injuries. One hundred fifteen drug arrests were also made.
