According to officials, the 911 and long-distance services for customers in the Gallatin area have been temporarily disrupted.  Click to hear KMZU’s Kristie Cross talk to Windstream spokesman Scott Morris:

“We have had a fiber cut on I-85 just a few miles south of Albany,”said Morris,”This has impacted 911 service for some of the communities we serve in the area including Gallatin, Coffey, Jamestown, Pattonsburg, and Winston.  They do not have 911 at present and they also do not have long-distance service; however, they should be able to make local calls.”

Officials are on the scene and working to reinstate service.  Stay tuned to KMZU for further details.
