ANDREW COUNTY, Mo.- Missouri Highway Patrol investigated a one-vehicle accident in Andrew County that injured two Northwest Missouri football players injured and the vehicle in flames.
Online crash report indicates, Cole Forney, 22, of Maryville, Mo., was southbound on I-29, just 5 miles north of St. Jospeh, when he hit a slick spot, traveled off the roadway, struck a concrete barrier, ejecting himself from the vehicle onto northbound 1-229.
The vehicle overturned onto the guardrail coming to a rest on its wheels in the southbound lanes of I-29 fully engulfed in flames.
Both Forney and an occupant of the vehicle, Jacob Vollstedt, 22, of Iowa City, Ia., were transported to Mosaic Life Care for treatment. Forney suffered serious injuries after being ejected and Vollstedt sustainted moderate injuries.
