MISSOURI — On Tuesday, President Trump signed an executive order, titled Promoting Agriculture and Rural Prosperity in America.
According to agweb.com this order will empower the new Secretary of Agriculture, Sonny Perdue, to “identify and eliminate unnecessary regulations that hurt our nation’s farmers and rural communities.” Furthermore, it will establish the Interagency Task Force of Agriculture and Rural Prosperity. They will examine current barriers and work towards a long-term, sustainable rural development. Current regulations, tax policies and other issues will also be looked at to help these communities prosper.
“Today, America’s farmers feed not only our nation, but millions of people around the world,” said Trump. “U.S. farmers deserve a government that serves their interests and empowers them.”
