WARD COUNTY, Tx. — The man suspected of being the shooter at the Black and Gold Bar in Columbia is now in custody in Texas.
Investigators were seeking public assistance in locating Miles Leighton Hillegas, 21, a student at the University of Missouri in Columbia, after he was identified as a suspect in the April 26 shooting.
The shooting left a victim with a gunshot wound to the leg.
On Wednesday, May 2, Hillegas was arrested by authorities in Ward County, Texas.
Hillegas is behind bars, held on $500,000 cash only bond for charges of felony first degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.
Hilegas will be extradited in Missouri to face the charges. There’s no word yet when extradition will take place.
