Saline County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of I-70 and Route J in Nelson shortly before midnight Wednesday night. According to the report, someone was trying to break-in to the back of a parked tractor trailer. When the deputy arrived, the suspect, Tony Dick, 55, of Otterville, attempted to flee but was corraled with the help of a state trooper. During the investigation, Dick claimed “the voices” told him to open the locked trailer door. The driver of the trailer inspected the door and stated the cost of replacement could be as much as 15-hundred dollars. Dick was taken into custody on trespassing, tampering, and property damage charges. He is currently being held in the Saline County Jail pending formal charges.
