A Marshall resident, facing numerous drug-related charges, is scheduled to appear in a Saline County courtroom Monday morning. Carlos Banks, 35, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. A judge will consider a defense’s motion to reduce bond during Banks’ arraignment. Proceedings are expected to get underway at 9:00 a.m.

A separate case against Banks is pending in Ray County. The charges stem from an incident in May 2011 in Marshall. A change of venue was granted in mid-August 2012. Banks is scheduled to go on trial in February on felony charges of possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.

Banks is being held on a combined bond of $35,000.
