drunk drivingMARION COUNTY, Mo. — A Palmyra resident, Curtis D. Lawson, 52, was driving the wrong direction on a highway when he caused a traffic crash.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Lawson was also intoxicated at the time of the crash. He was charged with DWI and driving the wrong direction on a highway resulting in an accident. Lawson was released to medical personnel due to injuries.

Lawson was driving north in the southbound lanes of US 61 at 9:58 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2015. According to the crash report Lawson struck the second vehicle,driven by Delbert Hall, 59, of Oak Ridge. Vehicle one was reportedly a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier, while vehicle two was a 2014 International tractor.

Both drivers were transported by ambulance to area hospitals; Lawson with moderate injuries and Hall reportedly receiving minor injuries.
