KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Amtrak Service between Kansas City and St. Louis has been temporarily suspended.


Increased rail traffic caused by freight trains being diverted to the Union Pacific Railroad route between St. Louis and Kansas City has led to a temporary suspension of Amtrak Missouri River Runner service in this corridor. Chartered buses will cover the Amtrak route and stop at all stations as close to the train schedules as possible, but delays are to be expected.

The additional freight train volume is due to historic flooding in the Central U.S.
