JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo. — A Kansas City man received minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident involving a deer in Johnson County Sunday night.

According to the report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by Shaun A. sims 18, of Sedalia, was traveling eastbound on US 50 just before Highway D when a deer reportedly entered the left lane of the roadway.

Sims struck the deer and after impact, brought his vehicle to a controlled stop on the right shoulder.

The passenger of the vehicle, Cletus H . Lichte 54, of Kansas City sustained minor injuries and was taken to Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia for treatment.

Both Sims and Lichte were reportedly wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
