Click to hear KMZU’s Kristie Cross speak with Lexington Chief of Police Don Rector:
An armed robbery was reported in Lexington Thursday night at the Bharti Liquor store on Route 13. “A black male entered the store with a black stocking cap, female pantyhose over his mouth and nose area, a black jacket or hoodie, black wind running pants and white tennis shoes with black stripes,” said Rector, “He had a gun in his right hand. He went straight to the office where the money was to the female clerk and demanded money. She gave him the deposit bag and, at that time, he left on foot.”
The department does believe they have identified the suspect, but have not located that individual at this hour. They are not able to release his name at this time. “We can’t because he hasn’t been charged yet,” said Rector, “His friend dropped him off in Gladstone, Missouri. We are in the process of collecting some evidence here at the house and will hopefully have some charges later today or tomorrow.”
The man reportedly got away with between $100-$175. No injuries were reported in the incident.
