The Army Corps of Engineers will hold a meeting on Thursday in Lexington. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with Project Manager Robin Wankum:
The Corps will discuss levy rehab on the Missouri River and take public questions. “The 2011 flood was very significant,” says Wankum, “We had 57 levies that requested assistance from the Corps of Engineers. Of that, 53 of those requests were approved for assistance by the Corps, and we’re addressing those projects and trying to get contracts in place to repair those projects over the next six to eight months .” The meeting will be from 11:00 until 12:00 p.m. at the Riverfront Park in Lexington. Anyone looking for information is welcome to attend.
