MONITEAU COUNTY, Mo. – An arraignment in Moniteau County was postponed Tuesday morning, for a man accused of killing his son and burning the body.
Matthew Hamm, 35, of Fortuna, appeared at 9:00 a.m. with his court appointed attorney on charges of first degree murder and abandonment of a corpse. Hamm’s arraignment was continued to July 25. Investigators say Hamm admitted to striking the infant on the head with a plastic mug in May of 2017, then burned the body before concealing it on his property.
Hamm remains in custody with a $1 million bond.
