Scanner reports indicate a high speed pursuit in our southwestern listening area. Police are following a vehicle last seen traveling westbound on 2 Highway near Route 13 in Cass County at speeds up to 110 mph at this time. Listeners are asked to avoid that area. A Highway Patrol aircraft facilitated a safe ending to a two county pursuit of burglary suspects Saturday afternoon. According to the patrol reports, A Clinton police officer attempted to stop the suspect vehicle that sped away. A Henry County Deputy and a trooper took up the pursuit on Highway 7 North of Urich. The vehicle traveled into Cass County as the aircraft allowed to pursuing officer to back off. The suspect vehicle slowed and that allowed Cass County Deputies and troopers to position stop sticks disabling the vehicle. The driver, Carrie L. Bates, 38, of Lee’s Summit and a passenger, Jacob R. Fansler, 25, of Harrrisonville were taken into custody for the pursuit and felony possession of a controlled substance. Another passenger and her infant were released at the scene without further incident.
