You can learn the basics of shotgun and skeet shooting at an event at the State Historic Site in Arrow Rock.

Huff says the shotgun along with safety devices will be provided.

The free program runs in two secessions on Saturday.

The morning event starts at nine a.m. and runs until noon.

The afternoon secession starts at one p.m. and continues until four.

Call (660) 837-3330 to pre-register or register the day of the event.

Brian Flowers from the Missouri Department of Conservation will present the program, which will begin with a firearms safety lesson and advance into proper fit of a shotgun, proper stance and shooting techniques.
