HENRY COUNTY, Mo.- According to a release from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, a Clinton man is currently in custody at the Henry County Detention Center for his connection to an incident that occurred on SE BB Highway, south of Brownington on Friday morning, May 5, 2017.
John Robert Scott, 25, has been formally charged with felony first-degree assault. In a complaint filed with the Henry County Associate Circuit Court early this morning by the Henry County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, John Robert Scott allegedly pointed a shotgun outside of a motor vehicle and shot at the victim.
The probable cause statement submitted by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office indicated the victim was struck by one of the gunshots, receiving non-life threatening injuries.
Scott remains in custody on a $50,000 bond and future court dates are pending.
“There are several other incidents still under investigation at this time, which we believe are connected. Upon completion of these investigations, they will be submitted to the Henry County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, for review of possible additional charges being filed. If you have information on these other shooting events, you are encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Office. We have had an outstanding response in this case through our social media postings over the weekend which was helpful in charging Scott with this one count”, Sheriff Oberkrom stated.
