BOONE COUNTY, Mo. – A motion to suppress evidence in a Boone County murder case was continued Monday, at the request of the prosecuting attorney.

The defense attorney for Devontre Deshawn Kennedy, 23, of Columbia, did not object to the request for continuance of the hearing. Kennedy and a co-defendant, Darold Dewayne Pruitt, 46, were charged with second degree murder, discharging a firearm from a vehicle and assault in the second degree in March of 2017. Authorities say Kennedy and Pruitt are responsible for the shooting death of Shamya Brimmage and wounding of another woman on Madison Drive.

The next hearing is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2018.
