SUGAR CREEK, Mo. – Authorities recovered a body from the Missouri River near LaBenite Park in Sugar Creek Tuesday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Water patrol officials were made aware of a possible body in the water near LaBenite Park. Two Water Patrol members responded and located the body of a white male at approximately 8:05 a.m.

Authorities moved the body to the Jackson County Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine an identity and cause of death. Highway Patrol officials say there was no sign of any foul play.

The Highway Patrol is currently investigating missing persons reports for a possible match, however nothing is promising at this time.
