MONITEAU COUNTY, Mo.- A suspicious vehicle report led to the arrest of a Columbia man just south of Tipton on Saturday by the Moniteau County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called to Manito Lake and upon arrival made contact with two subjects sleeping inside a truck. While speaking with the subjects deputies allegedly observed marijuana in the vehicle and conducted a search. Upon investigation, an undisclosed amount of marijuana and methamphetamine was seized.
The driver, Corey E. Wayne, 27, was taken into custody and transported to the Moniteau County Jail.
Wayne was initially charged with possession of a controlled substance and posted a $25,000 bond after being processed. Formal charges have not been filed as of this morning.
