19 years ago, Farmers’ Electric Cooperative established the Area Youth Benefit Fund to help cover medical costs of those in need. Click to hear KMZU’s Bob Allen talk with Area Youth Benefit Fund Events Coordinator Steve Shoot:
This year marks the 19th annual A.Y.B.F. dinner-auction and golf tournament. According to Shoot, the August 7th auction is loaded with great items like a guitar autographed by Eric Clapton, two one-day passes for the 2012 Masters Golf Tournament, a trip for four to Disney World. Shoot says those participating in the auction won’t have all the fun though. On August 8th, Golfers can expect a free pair of shoes with registration as well as a great goodie bag and contests on every hole of the course.
These events raise money for the fund which assists families with children who have been ill or injured and cannot cover the medical expenses. Shoot hopes to make a major announcement regarding the amount donated to families in their 9-county service territory.
