BATES CITY, Mo.– A Bates City man has been taken into custody on multiple felony charges.
Ryan G. Beamgard, 31, was arrested by Odessa law enforcement and is charged with murder in the second degree, assault in the first degree, burglary in the first degree, stealing a motor vehicle, and two counts of armed criminal action.
According to a probable cause statement, officers were dispatched in Odessa May 5, 2016, on reports of two people being shot. Upon arrival, deputies observed a white male sitting on the front porch and a deceased white male lying in the doorway nude, covered in blood. The man on the porch stated that a white male dressed in all black clothing had broken through the front window of his residence, fired a shot at him, then fired a gun at another suspect, who was shot in the chest.
Beamgard is scheduled to appear for a hearing May 25, 2016, at 10 a.m. in Lexington. He is being held on a $500,000, cash-only bond.
