A DeWitt man was sentenced Monday to four years in the Missouri Department of Corrections after he violated the terms of his probation. Carroll County Prosecutor Cassandra Brown said in a news release that Arthur Baxley, 33, was placed on probation after he pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful use of a weapon in February. Baxley had also pleaded guilty to a third-degree domestic assault charge.
In a separate case, Baxley pleaded guilty to two counts of felonious restraint and one count of domestic assault. According to court documents, he went to a woman’s home with a tazer and allegedly threatened to kill her. He is also accused of terrorizing her for about five hours. Baxley was sentenced to 120 days in the DOC in that case.
Additional time could likely be added to his newly imposed four-year sentence.
