The smell of barbecue will fill the air at Dockery Park in Gallatin Friday morning as a smoke-off competition begins. According to spokesperson Dwight Smith, the money raised will be used to bring a Vietnam memorial to the community’s VFW post.  Click to hear Smith:


BBQ enthusiast will compete in four categories: chicken, pork ribs, pulled pork and beef brisket.  Competitors can start cooking at 8 a.m. Friday.  The entry fee is $50 per team.  Judging will take place at noon on Saturday.  All proceeds benefit the VFW Post.  KCBS rules apply.  For more information call Dwight Smith at (660) 663-5043 or Jesse Tony (816) 918-6780.
