Billie Lee Helmich, 77, of Salisbury, MO, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019, at the Brunswick Nursing Home.

Billie was born on September 1, 1942 in Fayette, MO the son of Emil and Emma Frances (Galliher) Helmich. He was united in marriage to Beverly Wilson on February 24, 1961 in Salisbury. Billie was a graduate of Salisbury High School, Class of 1960. He was a cattle buyer.

Billie is survived by his wife, Beverly, of the home; one daughter, Barbara Hipp and her husband Roy of Oklahoma; one son Bill Jo Helmich and his wife Carol of Cairo, MO; one brother, Donald Helmich of Bethel, MO; one sister Dorothy Kitley of Collinsville, IL; seven grandchildren, Ashley Fuster and her husband Miguel of Chesapeake, VA, Danelle Helmich of Moberly, MO, Miranda Helmich of Marysville, MO, Garrett Helmich of Iowa, Joey Hipp of Oklahoma, Sirena Wiley of Florida, and Justin Hipp of Florida; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alfred “Mick” E. Helmich; and infant daughter, Beth Lee Helmich

Private family services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, under the direction of Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury. MO. The family suggests memorials to the Chariton County Historical Society or the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
