LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — An accident on the Lake of the Ozarks sent one boater to the hospital Saturday with serious injuries.
Missouri State Highway Patrol reports being dispatched to the 14.9 mile marker of the Big Niangua Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks Saturday morning at 8:40 a.m.. Upon arrival, authorities discovered that boats being driven by Lake St. Louis resident Timothly Cox, 53, and Lebanon resident Robert Coffey, 62, were traveling in opposite directions of each other and turned the same direction to avoid colliding, causing them to collide.
Upon impact, Cox’s boat went over the top of Coffey’s, leading to serious injuries for Coffey. He was transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital. Cox did not report injuries.
