WASHINGTON (AP) — Many of the Republican freshmen in the House are now climbing on board, as Speaker John Boehner tries to win approval of his plan to avoid a government default. But he’s still not ready to claim victory. If it passes the House, the bill is expected to be defeated in the Senate later today. But it would bring President Barack Obama and congressional leaders a step closer to endgame efforts for a debt-limit solution before Tuesday’s deadline.
