BOONE COUNTY, Mo. — A Jefferson City woman was injured after an ice-related accident overnight Sunday.

Just before 1 a.m. Sunday, Mary E. Barnhill, 43, was southbound on US 63 at Gans Creek when, as she was overtaking another vehicle, her vehicle slid on the ice-covered roadway.

Barnhill’s vehicle then slid off the left side of the road, striking a cable median and guardrail before coming to rest in the median.

Barnhill received minor injuries in the accident. University EMS transported her to University Hospital for treatment.
