BOONE COUNTY, Mo.- A vehicle pursuit early this morning in Boone County led to the apprehension of a Columbia man.
According to a release from the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, at approximately 12:52 a.m., a deputy was on a routine patrol in the area of South Providence Road and Green Meadows Road when he attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a vehicle which had committed a traffic violation. The suspect vehicle reportedly failed to stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued traveling south on Providence Road.
The pursuit continued south before going west on Old Plank Road where the pursuit was terminated in the 300 block of Brookside Lane.
The driver of the vehicle, Selestine Nichols, 29, was taken into custody and charged with resisting arrest, driving while intoxicated, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and careless and imprudent driving. He was transported to the Boone County Jail pending formal charges.
