BOONE COUNTY, Mo. – A Columbia man accepted a plea deal Tuesday, to charges related to the death of his girlfriend and her unborn child.

The state dropped murder charges against Jeremiah Lynne, 24, in exchange for guilty pleas to two counts of involuntary manslaughter and one count of leaving the scene of an accident. The Boone County judge promptly sentenced Lynne to a total of 24 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. Lynne got sentenced to 10 years on each manslaughter count and 4 years for leaving the scene of the crash, all to be served consecutively.

Lynne was fleeing from police for erratic driving on April 1st, when he struck a utility pole, resulting in the death of his passenger, Skyler Littleton, who was four months pregnant.
