The Boys and Girls Club of West Central Missouri is accepting nominations for the Pink Flamingo Award.  Spokesperson Matt LaCasse says they created the prize to honor individuals with a passion for helping others.

“Community giving, philanthropy, kindness, generosity, character and leadership,” LaCasse says “are qualities that Pink Flamingo award winners all possess.”

Nominations can be made through Thursday of next week.

“We will accept as many nominees as we can get and then the voting will start on November 1.”  LaCasse adds that “will run through the Friday before our ‘Evening of Heart and Hope’ auction, which is going to be on Feb 16, so the voting will run through Feb 8th.

Proceeds from the auction will be used by the organization which LaCasse says serves about 600 students each day.  Residents of Sedalia, Green Ridge, La Monte, Cole Camp, Leeton and Smithton are eligible for the honor.  Click here to download a nomination form.
