UPDATE: – 8 p.m. – A Salisbury man was killed this afternoon at a railroad crossing in Chariton County.  Missouri highway Patrol confirmed, William Thomson, 36, was the driver of a Case farm tractor, which reportedly failed to yield at the crossing.  The incident report says a Norfolk Southern locomotive struck the tractor at a  rail road crossing. There was reportedly a sign marking the crossing however crossing arms are not present at the intersection of the road and the tracks. The incident occurred just south of Highway 24, on Cal Hubbard avenue.  Thomson was pronounced dead at the scene.  

CHARITON COUNTY, MO – A vehicle crash today reportedly involved injuries in Chariton County.

Preliminary information indicates a fatality resulted from an accident involving a tractor and train, south of 24 Highway on Cal Hubbard Road.  Missouri Highway Patrol confirmed an accident at the location, but could not provide further details.
