UPDATE: 11/17/17, 11:03 a.m. — A spokesperson for the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office told KMZU News shortly after 11:00 a.m. Friday that all Carroll County deputies had returned to base, however the search for a suspect was still underway by Highway Patrol troopers and Ray County deputies.

The Ray County Sheriff’s Office was not immediately able to comment on the ongoing investigation. KMZU News will report the latest details as soon as they are released.

CARROLL COUNTY, Mo. — KMZU News has confirmed reports of a manhunt on Highway 10 in the area between Norborne and Hardin.

A spokesperson for the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office told KMZU News that Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputies and troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol are currently searching for a male suspect who was involved in a high-speed chase with law enforcement before exiting his vehicle and fleeing on foot.

It was not clear what led to the chase and a more detailed description of the suspect was not available.

The incident reportedly happened around 9:30 a.m. Friday on Highway 10. Residents in the area between Norborne and Hardin are being advised to lock their doors and stay inside as authorities search for the suspect. A large law enforcement presence was reported in the area as the search is carried out.
