UPDATE: 5 p.m. – The victim of a shooting in Sedalia has died according to a news release submitted by Pettis County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called after reports of a shooting in Sunset Village Trailer Park on Main Street west of Sedalia were received about 12:50pm Thrusday afternoon. Upon arrival deputies located a white male victim with multiple gunshot wounds outside a residence. The victim was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Ambulance, where he later died of his injuries. The victim’s name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
Deputies have interviewed several witnesses in the case and are looking for two suspects, described as a black male driver and white male passenger. They were seen leaving the scene in a black 4-door car with a sunroof. During the investigation a black 2012 Chevrolet Impala, believed to have been involved in the crime and reported stolen from Sedalia, was recovered by the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office in Lexington. PETTIS COUNTY, Mo. — KMZU News has confirmed reports of a shooting in Sedalia Thursday.
A representative for the Sedalia Police Department confirmed the shooting and said the incident reportedly occurred in a trailer park near a movie theater in Sedalia, despite reports that the shooting took place at the cinema.
Information is not available at this time, however the Pettis County Sheirff’s Office is investigating the incident. One listener told KMZU News that the perpetrator has not yet been caught, however this is not been confirmed by authorities.
