UPDATE: 4:40 p.m.- According to Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper, Beau Ryun, said there were 4 vehicles involved in the accident and three of the four drivers involved were transported to area hospitals in serious condition. In an unfortunate twist, Life-Flight was called in for one of the drivers but was unable to transfer the victim due to the chopper over-heating at the scene.
Nuelle stated that it seems an older Chevy blazer caught fire when it collided with a Ford Focus. Also, one AT&T vehicle was involved. Traffic is now moving however Nuelle said alternate routes are still advised as traffic is moving extremely slow through the area.
UPDATE: 4:25 p.m.- KMZU’s Kim Nuelle is on scene. Nuelle reported the roads are closed at the moment but emergency crews are working diligently to get them re-opened in a timely fashion. At this moment, there has been no mention of injuries.
